The CWSP (Certified Wireless Security Professional) is a mid-level, vendor-neutral certification is that “builds on the foundation of wireless LAN knowledge from the CWNA certification by educating the candidate about the security threats to and weaknesses of wireless LANs.”
The main topics of this course and the CWSP certification exam are hardware, software, protocols, procedures, and design techniques used in reducing wireless LAN security risks. Wireless Security Certification and Training is an essential step in developing your expertise in wireless technologies.
The CWSP certification will certify that the successful candidate understands the weaknesses inherent in wireless LANs, the solutions available to address those weaknesses, and the steps necessary to implement a secure and manageable wireless LAN in an enterprise environment.
In terms of CWSP recertification, essentially candidates may either: 1) “recertify by passing the latest version of their current level of CWNP certification within 24 months of the initial date of the latest level of certification earned”; or 2) “maintain a valid CWNP certification status by earning the next level of certification within the CWNP Program within 24 months of the initial date of the previous level of certification earned.” Exam Requirements: A CWSP candidate must have obtained the CWNA certification prior to attending a CWSP class or taking the CWSP certification exam.
CWNA certified candidates are required to pass the following exam to achieve the CWNA certification:
