The Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) Associate certification is an entry level, vendor-neutral, certification for IT professionals who have “foundational skills that include basic knowledge of Internet technologies, network infrastructure, and Web authoring using HTML. This certification is a good starting point for individuals working in or seeking careers in Internet related roles.
Individuals certified with as CIW Associates have the basic hands-on skills and knowledge that an Internet professional is expected to understand and use. Foundations skills include basic knowledge of Internet technologies, network infrastructure, and Web authoring using HTML.
The CIW Associate certification is a prerequisite for all CIW Certifications.
Candidates seeking the CIW Associate certification should have prior experience using the Internet on a personal computer running the Microsoft Windows or UNIX/Linux operating systems.
In terms of recertification, “CIW exams may be retired for various reasons, including release of a new exam series, changes to related certification programs, or determination by the IT industry that a job role has become obsolete.” Exam Requirements: Candidates are required to pass the following exam to achieve the CIW Associate certification.
