CCNP Certification and Training Intro

The CCNP certification (Cisco Certified Network Professional) indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a network professional can install, configure, and troubleshoot local and wide area networks for enterprise organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes. The content emphasizes topics such as security, converged networks, quality of service (QoS), virtual private networks (VPN) and broadband technologies.

The CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification is a prerequisite for the CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification.

The CCNP certification is valid for three years, during which the candidate must re-certify by passing a current composite exam.

Exam Requirements

To gain the CCNP certification you have the choice of passing a set of three exams or a set of four exams.

The four-exam set includes the following exams:

642-811 BSMSN Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks
642-821 BCRAM Building Cisco Remote Access Networks
